Google ';American bulldog breeders in Ohio';. I don't know about the cheap part though. I also think it's a bad idea to get a dog as a gift for someone. A prospective owner should always see and spend time with a dog before the animal is taken home.
I do not. Check the classified section in the local newspaper. American Bulldogs are a more expensive breed I believe.
Be careful where or who you get a puppy from. If you go to a backyard/amateur type breeder that sells for less or even a pet store you might be getting a puppy that has some genetic defects that may appear later in its adult life. It's safer and better to go to a breeder where they health check and clear their breedings dogs of any genetic defects and any illness or issues that can be passed down to their offspring. You take a risk of getting a puppy or dog with problems from the backyard/amateur type breeder who may not know or care to do the health clearances. Many of these type of breeders' main concern is profit and the well being and future of the puppies they produce are not much of a concern to them.
If you can not afford the higher cost of this breed, look into another. Make sure it is a breed you want and can manage.

Is your g/f capable of handling these things and being mature enough to ensure the well-being of the dog? If she (or you) are just going to tie it to a tree in the back or drop a 25lb. choke chain around it's neck then do everyone a favor.....BUY HER A CANDLE AND SOME BATH OILS!!.

I have adopted both of my full-breed pugs from rescues. They are WONDERFUL dogs. You can go to the petfinder.com website and search for pugs in your area. Rescues generally charge around $300. Petfinder provides a link for all reputable shelters, rescues, etc.
I LOVE my two pugs and wouldn't trade them for the world, but I hope you understand that pugs are VERY expensive dogs to keep. They require a LOT of care. Most likely they will need eye surgery or they will go blind. That costs a minimum of $1500. They also get respiratory infections a LOT and each vet visit is about a hundred dollars.
Also, pugs shed a LOT. . . . ALL THE TIME. . . . . If you want a dog that won't leave hair EVERYWHERE, don't get a pug.
Also, pugs are VERY people oriented dogs. You can NOT leave them at home alone because they will become very lonely and destroy things. Lastly, please remember they are NOT outdoor dogs at ALL. In the summertime, they have to be kept in the air conditioning because they are VERY prone to heat stroke and can die VERY easily.
Pugs are WONDERFUL with children. When our first pug puppy was only about 7 months old, we had 12 Cub Scouts at our house. These 9 year olds just kept playing with her, but being young, they were pretty rough. She was just WONDERFUL with them. Never laid her ears back, just had a good time.

But its your choice. Just make sure you get what you pay for, and that the breeders who you buy from, have at least SOME idea of what they are talking about.

Honestly having had both if A Golden is to much to handle a Bulldog vet bills is also harder to handle so you may want to study this and be happy and train the dog you have. Goldens are generally great dogs and just love companionship, running, playing, ball tossing and long walks. They can get hyper if they do not get the right amount of exercise they need. So at least think this through..

American Bulldogs are a rare breed(not recognized by AKC) so info is harder to come by, but check out dog mags like Dogworld or DogFancy, they have quite a few ads, and most have websites. (you can go to the mags web site at www.dogfancy.com, too)

Wow you will be hard picking to find one that cheap. Quality does not come cheap and thats what you want in a bulldog. Getting a sub-standard quality bulldog is just asking for trouble and thousands in vet bills. If you want one from a breeder than you will have to fork up more money than that. Other than that you might look at rescuing one.

hi there, I'm a dog trainer and let me tell you, you will almost never find a english bull dog some one is giving away! i love the breed, but because of genetic conditions the breed has, i recommend going to the akc web sit, it will tell you the numbers of bulldog breeders in your area and around the country that they recommend(their dogs have been genetically been tested for various conditions). if you have problems at the site, get their # off of it and call them. you cant go wrong with a english bulldog and you can go wrong getting one from a akc approved breeder. well hope this helps, brad

Please please please do not be fooled by the idea of a miniature English Bulldog. First of all the idea of creating a miniature version of an English Bulldog has already been created, it's called a French Bulldog. Second of all the reality is to create miniatures you would have to breed either runt full size dogs, which can spread genetic defects, or breed in something like a pug or french bulldog which would NOT get rid of full sized English Bulldog health issues as both others are bull breeds as well. Also most of these breeders suggest their bulldogs are around 35-50 lbs which is just SLIGHTLY smaller than a full sized English bully. Please go with a full sized English Bulldog from a VERY reputable breeder and you will have less risk of health problems. You can find many breeders here:

Please please please do not be fooled by the idea of a miniature English Bulldog. First of all the idea of creating a miniature version of an English Bulldog has already been created, it's called a French Bulldog. Second of all the reality is to create miniatures you would have to breed either runt full size dogs, which can spread genetic defects, or breed in something like a pug or french bulldog which would NOT get rid of full sized English Bulldog health issues as both others are bull breeds as well. Also most of these breeders suggest their bulldogs are around 35-50 lbs which is just SLIGHTLY smaller than a full sized English bully. Please go with a full sized English Bulldog from a VERY reputable breeder and you will have less risk of health problems. You can find many breeders here:

Usually pure bread bulldogs don't sell for less than 1000. You could get them cheaper if you go to a rescue. I personally wanted a bulldog but they were too expensive for my liking so I bought a mixed dog. My dog is 50% bulldogg and 50% puggle.

My uncle has some but the r very expensive and they are decendents of Ugga (the Georgia mascot) and they have a rear gene and if they are bread there is a chance that you might end up with a rear blue bulldog. He is selling them for a cuple thusand dollars.

If you have cattle instead of vegetables or fruits on your farm, you have to deal with diseases like Mad Cow that causes huge markets like the US to suspend shipments for months at a time, which are months when you have no income, but still have to pay for feed, your mortgage payment, and taxes.
For dairy farmers, the government sets the prices you can charge for milk and butter, and so you may find profit is in the pennies on each litre of milk sold. And of course the market may not be willing to pay more anyway. I've heard of some farmers who milk the cows and then throw the milk away...They have to keep milking to make sure the cows continue to produce, but it would cost more to ship the milk than to simply let it go to waste.

As far as ';cheap'; farmland.... it depends on what your definition of cheap is. On an average, farmland is going to run you anywhere from $3,500 - $10,000 per acre in IL. Some could be higher depending upon how close to the major metropolitan areas you want to be. Iowa would be a little less. On an average over there, you can find farm land from $1,500 to $4,000 per acre.
The biggest variance is going to be how close the ';the city'; you want to be. Let me know if you have more detailed info. I'm a prior farmgirl from IA. who now lives in the city and is a real estate appraiser / realtor.
